Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer for the West Hazleton, PA area. You will patrol, monitor access, and provide professional customer service at a chemical/petrochemical location, using technology to document activities.

Competitive pay is $18.00 per hour with a schedule including Wed 4:00 PM–12:00 AM, Sat 12:00 AM–08:00 AM, and Sun 12:00 AM–08:00 AM. CPR certification and access-control experience are preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent required.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with access control systems and badge management.
• Basic computer skills; comfortable using tablets or similar devices.
• CPR certification current at time of employment.
• Foundational knowledge of loss prevention strategies and practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees while following security procedures.
• Respond to incidents calmly and follow site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility, including perimeter locations.
• Monitor access by verifying credentials and reporting unauthorized access.
• Document patrols and incidents per site requirements.

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a chemical/petrochemical location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, help to deter incidents, and support access control operations. You will provide professional customer service, communicate clearly with visitors and team members, and use technology to document security-related activities. 3.1 Access Control/Badge Experience (B201)

Candidates must demonstrate familiarity with access control systems and badge management. This includes understanding how to issue, revoke, and manage access badges for employees and visitors.

3.2 Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet (B204)

Candidates should possess basic computer skills and be comfortable using tablets or similar devices. Proficiency in navigating software applications and performing tasks such as data entry, email communication, and online research is essential.

3.3 CPR Certification (B205)

All candidates must hold a valid CPR certification. This certification should be obtained from a recognized organization and must be current at the time of employment. Proof of certification will be required during the hiring process.

3.4 Loss Prevention (B210)

Candidates should have a foundational understanding of loss prevention strategies and practices. This includes knowledge of theft prevention, inventory management, and safety protocols to minimize loss within the organization.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and/or employees while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the chemical and petrochemical facility, including business areas, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access to the location by verifying credentials, observing visitor activity, and reporting unauthorized access attempts or unusual conditions.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observations in accordance with site requirements, including potential hazards, spills, leaks, or damaged barriers for appropriate follow-up.

Minimum Requirements:

• Loss Prevention experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access Control/Badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
