Job summary

Allied Universal in Miami, FL is seeking a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Situational Awareness to protect students, staff and visitors across Education locations. You will monitor, patrol, and deter incidents while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining a professional presence.

This full-time role offers morning and overnight shifts, a pay rate of $16.00 per hour, and opportunities to grow through training, along with benefits and a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of security-related experience.
• State, county, or city-issued security license preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.
• License requirements vary by state/local regulation.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, staff, visitors, and families and follow site policies and emergency procedures.
• Respond to incidents and security concerns in a calm, professional manner.
• Carry out regular unarmed patrols of buildings, entrances, and perimeter to deter incidents and report anomalies.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor management per site procedures.
• Document incidents and patrol activities and communicate findings to leadership.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Situational Awareness in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. You will provide exceptional customer service, clear communication, and timely reporting of security-related concerns. Pay Rate: $16.00 / Hour

Job Schedule

• Thursday: 11:30 PM – 08:30 AM
• Saturday: 07:00 AM – 08:00 PM
• Sunday: 07:00 AM – 08:00 PM

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and families by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, student-related concerns, access issues, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of school buildings, classrooms, common areas, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and assist with visitor management in accordance with site-specific procedures, maintaining a courteous and professional presence.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
