Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, seeks a part-time Security Officer in Whittier, CA to protect clients and assist visitors at memorial park and cultural institution locations.

The role involves unarmed patrols, visible presence, and customer service. Schedule is Sat-Sun 7:30 AM–4:00 PM with pay of $21.31/hour, and opportunities for growth through our training and perks program.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, families, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a memorial park and cultural institution location.
• Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and notifying appropriate personnel as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout grounds, buildings, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Assist with access control, traffic and parking flow during services, events, and periods of increased visitation in accordance with site procedures.
• Report maintenance issues, hazards, suspicious activity, and policy violations to site leadership and Allied Universal management.
