Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Observation in Suffolk, VA to safeguard clients at a busy retail location. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence, and deliver excellent customer service to shoppers and staff.

Minimum requirements include at least 18 years old, high school diploma or equivalent, and ability to pass background and drug screening. Guard card preferred.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have strong customer service skills and the ability to observe and report security-related issues accurately.
• Patrols will be conducted on the sales floor, entrances, parking areas, and perimeters to deter incidents.
• Reporting incidents and observations following site procedures and escalation procedures.

Responsibilities

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed: 05:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Thur: 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Fri: 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sat: 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail location.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the sales floor, entrances, parking areas, loading areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe activity within the location, and report suspicious behavior, hazards, or policy violations to appropriate site personnel.
• Document incidents, patrols, and security-related observations accurately and promptly in accordance with site requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
