Allied Universal in Washington, DC is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Guard Card Qualified to monitor and safeguard educational facilities. You will maintain a visible presence, control access, and respond to incidents, while delivering exceptional customer service to students, staff, and visitors.

The role offers flexible day schedules with shifts such as daytime hours and on-site patrols.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of security-related experience.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, students, staff, and other members of the educational community while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related responsibilities.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, follow established entry procedures, and report access concerns or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, medical situations, alarms, and other critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific emergency response procedures.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain clear communication with Allied Universal leadership and site contacts regarding incidents, observations, and security-related concerns.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
