As an Unarmed Security Officer at a higher education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming campus environment. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate professionally with students, staff, and visitors, and respond to concerns with integrity and teamwork. Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $20.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 07:00 PM - 11:59 PM
• Sun: 11:59 PM - 06:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, campus concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document observations according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and assist with directing visitors, reporting unauthorized entry, suspicious activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate campus contacts.
• Support a welcoming educational environment by providing directions, answering general questions, and maintaining professional interactions with the campus community.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
