Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Unarmed Security Officer for Fairfax, VA. You will patrol and monitor healthcare sites, provide welcoming service, and support staff, patients, and visitors while maintaining a visible security presence.

Responsibilities include responding to incidents, documenting observations, and ensuring site policies are followed. CPR/First Aid certification is preferred, and a background check plus drug screening are required by policy.

• Tue 02:45 PM - 11:00 PM
• Wed 02:45 PM - 11:00 PM
• Thur 02:45 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sun 02:45 PM - 11:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, communicating with appropriate hospital personnel and/or first responders.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site-specific procedures, assisting with directions and reporting unusual conditions to the appropriate personnel.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required documentation for incidents, observations, patrols, and other security-related activities.

Minimum Requirements:

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
