Job summary

Allied Universal in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer (Unarmed) to provide courteous, professional service while patrolling the facility and protecting patients, visitors and staff. The role requires a valid driver’s license for patrols, at least 6 months security experience, and CPR/First Aid preferred.

The schedule on Saturdays and Sundays, with a pay rate of $18.30 per hour, offers flexible shift opportunities through our Claim a Shift platform.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Pepper spray certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and contractors by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of healthcare facilities, entrances, parking areas, and surrounding grounds to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as directed, and assist with maintaining orderly movement throughout the location.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
