Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services provider, is seeking an Unarmed Security Officer for our Arlington, VA site. This part-time role focuses on patrols, access control, and customer service in a technology-focused corporate environment.

You will monitor alarms, document activity, respond to incidents, and work a flexible schedule with on-site duties. A HS diploma and background check are required; CPR certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• A background investigation will be conducted.
• A drug screen will be required.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors at a technology-focused corporate location by carrying out security-related procedures and policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner following site protocols.
• Monitor access points and support visitor and contractor entry procedures, including verifying credentials and directing guests.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and maintenance or security-related concerns to site leadership.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors at a technology-focused corporate location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and escalation procedures.
• Monitor access points and support visitor and contractor entry procedures, including verifying credentials, directing guests, and documenting relevant activity.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and maintenance or security-related concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
