Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time unarmed Security Officer in Jacksonville, FL. You will provide courteous customer service while protecting patients, staff and visitors in a healthcare-related location. Position Type: Part Time.

Pay Rate: $16.05 per hour. You will perform regular patrols, monitor access, respond to incidents, and complete detailed reports in alignment with site procedures and company standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of security-related experience.
• A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check may be required in line with laws.
• Drug screening may be required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may vary by state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, patients, and contractors by following site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including entrances and parking areas.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, reporting unauthorized access or policy concerns.
• Respond to incidents and alarms calmly, documenting observations and notifying responders as needed.
• Complete detailed activity reports and shift communications per Allied Universal requirements.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, patients, and contractors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities within a healthcare-related location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including building entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and report unauthorized access attempts or policy concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify emergency responders and site contacts as required.
• Complete detailed activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications while maintaining a professional presence and following Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
