Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol) in Winthrop, ME to safeguard clients at a retail distribution location. You will monitor access points, patrol areas, and maintain a visible presence to deter incidents while delivering friendly customer-focused service.

Minimum requirements: 18+ years old, high school diploma/equivalent, and background check and drug screen as required by law.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required by federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories per applicable laws.
• Drug screening required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements subject to state/local laws and regulations; may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry for employees, contractors, vendors, and drivers.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and escalate as needed.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observations accurately and communicate information to site contacts and leadership.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and delivery personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail distribution location.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the distribution facility, warehouse areas, loading docks, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry for employees, contractors, vendors, and drivers in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate personnel as required.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observations accurately and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
