Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer in Lakeland, FL to protect our clients and premises with visible patrols and professional customer service. You will support access control, respond to incidents, and maintain a safe environment for employees and visitors at a technology-focused site.

The role requires a minimum of 6 months in security, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to pass background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Guard card/license preferred.
• Must be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology-focused location by carrying out security-related procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and communicate observations to site contacts and emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity and assist with credential verification and guiding guests.
• Document patrols, incidents, and unusual observations in reports and communicate during shift handoffs.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology-focused business location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating observations to appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, including business areas, entry points, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site-specific procedures, assisting with credential verification and directing guests to appropriate locations.
• Document patrols, incidents, and unusual observations in required reports, and communicate relevant information during shift handoffs.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
