Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Part Time Unarmed Security Officer in Norfolk, VA to deter incidents, patrol perimeters, and provide excellent customer service at an aerospace/defense site.

You will log activities, monitor access points, respond to emergencies, and collaborate with site contacts to keep people and property safe. This role offers flexible scheduling and requires minimal licensing; CPR/First Aid are preferred.

Qualifications

• CPR certification is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, restricted areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials in accordance with site procedures, helping to maintain controlled entry to designated areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate site contacts and/or emergency personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required activity logs for patrols, incidents, and security-related observations.
