Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an Unarmed Security Officer for Norfolk, VA. You will patrol assigned areas, deter incidents, and provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a visible security presence at an aerospace/defense site.

Position is Full Time with a pay rate of $19.95 per hour. You will monitor access, log incidents, and follow post orders to support a safe, professional environment.

Qualifications

• A security professional guard card is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; report observations and follow site-specific escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of facilities, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity, unauthorized access, and potential security-related concerns.
• Monitor access to controlled areas, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and maintain accurate logs and incident documentation.
• Support a professional environment by communicating clearly with site personnel and following all applicable post orders and Allied Universal policies.
