Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for a full-time unarmed patrol role in Hartford, CT, servicing a financial institution location. You will perform routine patrols, monitor entrances, and provide excellent customer service while upholding security procedures.

Requirements include at least 1 year in law enforcement or 3 years security experience, a high school diploma, and the ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Qualifications

• 1 year of law enforcement experience OR 2 years in security supervisor/manager role OR 3 years in security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Comfort with using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check as per laws.
• Criminal histories considered in line with laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply.
• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors at a financial services location by following site-specific security procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of office areas, entrances, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials, and report irregularities per procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and coordinate with site contacts and emergency responders when needed.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and security-related activities accurately per Allied Universal and site requirements.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors at a financial services location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security-related supervisor or manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort with using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
