Job summary

Allied Universal in Denver, CO is seeking a Security Officer Unarmed Fare Enforcement to serve passengers and staff at a public transit location. You will conduct regular patrols, provide customer service, and respond to security-related concerns with a professional, reassuring presence.

Minimum qualifications include at least one year of security experience and a high school diploma. The position is full-time with a pay rate of $21.00 per hour and requires background checks and a pre-employment

Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• Pepper spray certification is preferred.
• Handcuffing certification is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a public transit location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, vehicle access points, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical events, and critical situations calmly and report to transit personnel or emergency responders as needed.
• Monitor access points and public areas, report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations, and complete incident and daily activity reports.
• Assist with crowd management and provide directions to support orderly passenger flow during operations, service disruptions, and events.

• Mon: 11:00 AM - 07:00 PM
• Tue: 11:30 AM - 07:30 PM
• Wed: 11:00 AM - 07:00 PM
• Sat: 11:30 AM - 07:30 PM
• Sun: 11:00 AM - 07:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a public transit location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, vehicle access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical events, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate transit personnel and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Monitor access points and public areas, report suspicious activity, hazards, and policy violations, and complete accurate incident and daily activity reports.
• Assist with crowd management and provide directions or information to support orderly passenger flow during routine operations, service disruptions, and special events.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Pepper spray certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Handcuffing certification is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
