Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring an Unarmed Security Officer in Costa Mesa, CA to protect clients and expect a professional, welcoming environment. You will manage access control, monitor patrolled areas, and provide exceptional customer service while deterring theft and maintaining safety.

You’ll work a full-time schedule with night shifts, perform incident reporting, and collaborate with site personnel to respond effectively to emergencies and security events.

Qualifications

• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to customers, visitors, and employees by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout retail sales areas, stockrooms, entrances, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or potential concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe customer and employee activity while maintaining a professional, approachable presence that helps to deter theft, trespassing, and other prohibited activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site procedures and communicating with appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, patrols, and security-related activities in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Mon 11:00 PM - 07:30 AM

Tue 11:00 PM - 07:30 AM

Wed 11:00 PM - 07:30 AM

Thur 11:00 PM - 07:30 AM

What You'll Do:
