Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Residential Patrol in Virginia Beach, VA. As an unarmed patrol officer at a tech campus, you will conduct routine patrols, monitor access, and respond calmly to security concerns while delivering a welcoming customer service experience.

Full-time role with daytime to evening shifts. Minimum requirements include high school diploma or equivalent, guard card preferred, and a background check; CPR is a plus. Training provided and benefits available.

Qualifications

• Guard card/license preferred.
• Access control/badge experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by following site-specific procedures and security-related policies for a technology campus or office environment.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and/or access issues.
• Monitor access points and check identification, badges, and/or visitor credentials as directed by post orders, reporting irregularities to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and actions taken per procedure.
• Complete daily activity logs and incident reports, communicate clearly with site contacts and/or public responders, and support emergency response activities when appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
