Job summary

Allied Universal in Bronx, NY is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Entry Authorization to provide reliable access control and customer service at a shelter location. The role offers flexible hours with a fixed anchor shift and opportunities to pick up additional shifts to boost earnings.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers at a shelter location while carrying out site‑specific access‑control procedures and emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorization for access, maintain visitor records, and communicate access concerns to appropriate site personnel.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established post orders and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, including entrances, common areas, and perimeter locations, to help identify security‑related concerns.
• Complete required activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site‑specific procedures.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Entry Authorization in Bronx, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeThur04:00 PM - 12:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
