Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Security Officer for a State Office in Boston, MA. You will provide customer service, conduct regular patrols of government buildings, monitor access, and respond to incidents with calm, professional judgment.

The role includes weekend shifts: Saturday 11 PM–7 AM and Sunday 3 PM–11 PM, with starting pay of $22.05 per hour and paid orientation and training. As part of Allied Universal, you can build a flexible schedule using our Claim a Shift platform,

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established reporting and escalation protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of government buildings, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the location, verify visitor credentials as required, and direct individuals to appropriate areas in accordance with site‑specific procedures.
• Document patrol observations, incidents, and unusual activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
