Allied Universal in Reno, NV is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Deterrence Patrol to join our team. This role offers fixed anchor shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform, designed to provide reliable hours and steady income.

You will perform security procedures, monitor access, respond to incidents, and prepare logs. The position pays $24 per hour with day/night schedule and potential to progress toward full-time opportunities.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Background check and drug screen may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public at government sites.
• Respond to incidents and alarms in a calm, professional manner.
• Conduct regular patrols of buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Unarmed Deterrence Patrol in Reno, NV, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $24.00 / Hour

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public at a government location by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, public concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or public service agencies as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of government buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, reporting suspicious behavior, maintenance concerns, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain required logs for incidents, patrols, and other security‑related activities.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 6 months of security‑related experience.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
