Job summary

Allied Universal in Blythewood, SC is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer to join a manufacturing and industrial environment. You will provide customer service, conduct patrols, monitor access points, and respond to incidents with professional communication and teamwork.

Qualified applicants have at least two years of security or law enforcement experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and are 18+ (21+ for armed roles). A background check and drug screening are required where permitted.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of security-related experience.
• Minimum two years of law enforcement, military, and/or corrections experience.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a manufacturing location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, parking areas, access points, loading docks, and facility perimeter.
• Monitor access to the location, verify credentials, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and communicate access concerns to site personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and complete required reports.
• Support traffic flow and delivery activity at designated entry points, provide directions, and report suspicious activity or policy violations.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a manufacturing location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of production areas, parking areas, access points, loading docks, and the facility perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access to the location, verify credentials as directed, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and communicate access concerns to appropriate site personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; document observations and complete required reports.
• Support traffic flow and delivery activity at designated entry points, provide directions, and report suspicious activity, equipment concerns, or policy violations.

Minimum Requirements

• Have at least two years of security-related experience.
• Have at least two years of law enforcement, military, and/or corrections experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
