Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer for Mall Patrol in San Diego, CA. This part-time role offers anchor shifts with a six-month commitment and a flexible schedule via our Claim a Shift platform.

You will provide customer service, patrol assigned areas, monitor access points, and respond to incidents, while building experience across multiple sites. The position emphasizes safety, reliability, and a people-first approach.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and emergency responses.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of residential buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeters to identify/report activity and maintenance needs.
• Respond to incidents and resident concerns calmly, notifying appropriate contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity to deter unauthorized entry and maintain orderly operations.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation for property representatives and Allied Universal leadership.

Security Officer Shopping Mall Patrol

Location: San Diego, CA.

Pay Rate: $24.35 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Fri: 04:30 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and/or staff by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of residential buildings, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate contacts and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with property procedures, helping to deter unauthorized entry and maintain orderly operations.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation, communicating relevant information to property representatives and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city‑issued security‑related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
