Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Part Time Security Officer – Enhanced in Escondido, CA. This role offers fixed anchor shifts and the option to pick up additional shifts via our scheduling platform.

Responsibilities include protecting tenants and visitors, conducting patrols, monitoring access, and responding to incidents in a calm, professional manner. A guard card/licensing is preferred and a background check will be conducted.

Qualifications

• One year of security-related experience or equivalent.
• Guard card or license preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Be 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and vendors per site procedures and emergency response.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the retail property to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious conditions or issues to leadership.
• Respond calmly and professionally to incidents following site procedures.
• Document patrols and daily activities and communicate findings to leadership.

As a Security Officer Shopping Center Enhanced Part Time Patrol in Escondido, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Wed: 11:00 AM - 07:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out site‑specific procedures, security‑related policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail property, including common areas, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter locations, to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location, reporting suspicious conditions, policy violations, and maintenance concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established site procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, and daily activities accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of security‑related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
