Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is seeking Security Officers to safeguard patients, visitors, staff and property across its medical and academic campuses. You will act as a visible front-line presence, monitor access control, and respond to emergencies to ensure a safe environment.

The role requires weekend/holiday shifts and on-site work. A NYS Security Guard License, high school diploma, and BCLS training within 90 days of starting are required; CPR certification is preferred where applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, military experience, or 2 years of collegiate coursework in criminal justice or a related field.
• Experience as Security Guard is preferred.
• Valid Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

• Be a visible front-line security presence for the hospital, protecting patients, visitors, employees and property.
• Maintain access control in assigned areas and respond to emergency situations.
• Support compliance with hospital safety policies; weekend/holiday coverage required.
• Role located near the George Washington Bridge on the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center campus.

This position requires weekend/holiday coverage. All Shifts available.

Preferred Criteria

• Bachelors degree, military experience, or 2 years of collegiate course in criminal justice or related field.
• Prior work experience as Security Guard.
• Valid Driver's License.

Required Criteria

• Current NYS Security Guard License.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required within 90 days of starting in role.
