Job summary

Allied Universal® is seeking a Security Officer Security Clearance Patrol in Des Plaines, IL. The unarmed patrol role involves monitoring, responding to incidents, and providing strong customer service at a technology-focused site.

Position is full time with a schedule covering day and night shifts. Valid DoD Confidential clearance and a high school diploma are required, with background checks and drug screening conducted in line with laws and licensing rules as applicable.

Qualifications

• Possess an active Department of Defense Confidential clearance.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of offices, work areas, common spaces, parking areas, and the property perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by site.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as directed, and report unusual conditions or policy violations to appropriate site contacts.
• Complete required activity reports and incident documentation accurately and promptly in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.
