Job summary

Allied Universal in Florida seeks a part-time Security Officer Screening Operations to screen visitors, monitor access points, and provide professional customer service at a government location. You will help maintain a secure environment, verify credentials, and respond to incidents while supporting daily operations.

Position Type: Part Time. Pay Rate: $18.50 / Hour. Schedule includes DayTime shifts with mornings through early afternoons.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
• Background clearance and drug screen required by policy.
• Armed guard license preferred where applicable.
• Must be 18+ (unarmed) or 21+ (armed) depending on role.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff and the public through screening procedures and policies.
• Screen individuals and items using established procedures and report prohibited items.
• Verify access credentials and direct visitors while documenting activities.
• Respond calmly to incidents and assist with prescribed response procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of screening areas and entry points to deter unauthorized access.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and members of the public by carrying out screening procedures, site-specific policies, and appropriate emergency response activities at a government location.
• Screen persons and authorized items entering designated areas using established screening equipment and procedures, reporting prohibited or suspicious items in accordance with site protocols.
• Verify access credentials and direct visitors to appropriate areas while maintaining accurate visitor and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and assisting with prescribed response procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, entry points, and surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess 2+ years of law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience.
• An armed guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
