Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Screen­ing in Hagerstown, MD to safeguard clients across multiple industries by screening people, vehicles, and materials. You’ll be visible on site to deter incidents and provide professional service to visitors and staff, following site procedures and post orders.

The role is full-time with set day schedules and a pay rate of $17.46 per hour. A background check and drug screen are required, along with licensing where applicable; a valid license is

Qualifications

• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to drivers, visitors, and personnel by carrying out site‑specific screening procedures, access‑control policies, and emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Screen individuals, vehicles, packages, and deliveries in accordance with established procedures; identify prohibited items or irregularities and report findings to appropriate site contacts.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and shipping‑related documentation, and maintain accurate records of screenings, visitor activity, and incidents.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following post orders and communicating with Allied Universal leadership and site representatives as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, loading zones, business areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
