Job summary

Allied Universal in Savannah, GA is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer – Retail Foot Patrol to protect customers and assets in a busy retail environment. You will perform unarmed patrols, assist customers, and deter incidents while maintaining a visible, approachable presence.

This role offers flexible daytime shifts, weekend options, and access to company tools and training. A high school diploma and 6 months security experience are preferred; a guard card is a plus.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of security experience.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Guard card/license preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to customers, associates, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail environment.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of sales floor areas, entrances and exits, receiving areas, parking lots, and the perimeter; environments may vary by location.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, potential policy violations, and maintenance hazards; document observations and actions in logs and incident reports.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and calls for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner; assist with de-escalation and coordinate with store management and/or emergency services.
• Control access to non-public areas as assigned, verify credentials for vendors and deliveries, and support loss prevention efforts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have 6+ months of security experience.


• Customer service experience is preferred.


• A guard card/license is preferred.


• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
