Job summary

Allied Universal® in Newport Beach, CA is seeking a Security Guard for a Retail Center on a full-time, day-shift basis. You will patrol retail areas, deter incidents, and provide excellent customer service to residents, visitors, and staff.

The role pays $21.50 per hour with duties including incident response, reporting, and maintaining a visible security presence. A high school diploma is required and background checks and a drug screen may be required by law.

As a Security Guard Retail Center Full Time Unarmed Patrolin Newport Beach, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a retail and mall location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. You will support a welcoming environment for visitors, tenants, and staff while responding to concerns with professionalism. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and retail patrons by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random vehicle and foot patrols throughout the neighborhood retail areas, common spaces, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, observe site activity, and report suspicious behavior, property concerns, or maintenance issues according to site-specific procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and communicate relevant incidents and observations to site management and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• The ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
