Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Access Control in Costa Mesa, CA. You will patrol retail locations, deter security incidents, and provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a welcoming environment.

This full-time, day-shift role pays $19.00 per hour. You will perform access control, assist visitors, and respond to incidents with professionalism and integrity in a dynamic setting.

Qualifications

• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as per federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories.
• Drug screen as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws and regulations.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, retailers, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the retail property.
• Monitor for unusual activity, policy violations, and potential hazards; document observations.
• Assist with access control, visitor guidance, and traffic/parking-related support.

As a Security Officer Access Controlin Costa Mesa, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a retail and mall location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service. You will communicate professionally with visitors, tenants, and team members while supporting a welcoming environment. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, retailers, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the retail property, including common areas, parking areas, exterior perimeter, and designated access points.
• Monitor for unusual activity, policy violations, and potential hazards, documenting observations and notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
• Assist with access control, visitor guidance, and traffic or parking-related support while maintaining a professional presence that helps to deter unauthorized activity.

Minimum Requirements:

• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
