Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Mall Patrol Driver in Newport Beach, CA. This full-time, late-afternoon role involves unarmed security patrols, customer service to visitors and tenants, and maintaining a safe environment across a premier retail/mall location.

Responsibilities include responding to incidents, reporting concerns, and assisting with traffic flow and inquiries. The position requires a valid driver’s license and background screening per policy.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent
• A valid driver’s license is required
• Pepper Spray and CPR certifications are preferred
• Guard Card/License preferred
• Be at least 18 (unarmed) / 21+ (armed)
• Background check and drug screen required

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and staff by following site policies.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of the shopping center, parking, and exterior walkways.
• Observe and report suspicious activity or security concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Respond calmly to incidents and emergencies per site procedures.
• Assist with traffic flow, directions, and lost-and-found items while maintaining a professional presence.

As a Security Officer Mall Patrol Driver in Newport Beach, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a premier retail and mall location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for visitors, tenants, and staff. This driving post offers the opportunity to deliver exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and respond to security-related concerns with integrity, reliability, teamwork, and care.

Position Type: Full Time / Late Afternoon Shift

Pay Rate: $22.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 12:00 PM - 08:30 PM
• Tue 12:00 PM - 08:30 PM
• Wed 12:00 PM - 08:30 PM
• Sat 12:00 PM - 08:30 PM
• Sun 12:00 PM - 08:30 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and/or retail staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the shopping center, including common areas, parking areas, perimeter locations, and/or exterior walkways.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, property concerns, access issues, and other security-related incidents to the appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.
• Assist with traffic flow, visitor inquiries, lost-and-found matters, and/or directions while maintaining a professional presence that helps to deter unauthorized activity.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Pepper Spray Certification is preferred.
• CPR Certification is preferred.
• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
