Allied Universal is hiring a Part-Time Security Officer for a retail store in Somerville, MA. The role offers a Friday and Saturday schedule from 10 AM to 9 PM with a starting pay of $20.30 per hour, plus paid orientation and training.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred for interacting with clients, visitors, and employees.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally following escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols of retail areas, stockrooms, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report unusual conditions or policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
• Complete required reports, logs, and documentation related to patrols and incidents.

Pay Rate: $20.30 / Hour

Job Schedule: Friday 10:00 AM - 09:00 PM, Saturday 10:00 AM - 09:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of retail sales areas, stockrooms, exterior entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe site activity, reporting unusual conditions, hazards, and policy violations to the appropriate personnel.
• Complete required reports, logs, and documentation related to patrols, incidents, and daily security-related activities.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
