Job Description

As a Security Officer - Refinery Patrol Driverin Torrance, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Security Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will conduct routine patrols, monitor assigned areas, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly with site personnel and visitors, and support a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative culture built on teamwork and integrity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and personnel while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.


• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of refinery buildings, process areas, access points, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual conditions or unauthorized activity.


• Monitor access to assigned areas by verifying credentials, documenting visitor activity, and following site entry and exit procedures.


• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency personnel when needed.


• Prepare accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift handoff documentation while following applicable refinery protocols and personal protective equipment requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.


• The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.


• A guard card or license is preferred.


• Customer service experience is preferred.


• Access control and badge experience is preferred.


• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
