Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of security-related experience.
• Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check will be conducted as per laws.
• Drug screening may be required.
• Licensing requirements may apply.

As a Security Officer Reception in San Diego, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.00 / Hour

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

• Greet visitors, verify identification and access authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate visitor records in accordance with site‑specific policies.
• Monitor entry activity, access control systems, cameras, and communication channels; report suspicious activity or security‑related concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Support reception operations by directing visitors, answering phones, receiving deliveries, and communicating relevant information to building management and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least 6 months of security‑related experience.
• Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
