Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer for an office building in San Diego, CA. You will provide dependable security services, greet residents and staff, perform security procedures, and respond to incidents as needed.

This role offers weekend anchor shifts with the option to pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, and includes paid training and career growth opportunities. A HS diploma and a state or local license are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of common areas, entry points, exterior grounds, and perimeter to help identify and report issues.
• Respond to incidents and resident concerns in a calm, trauma-informed, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Monitor access to the location and verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures.
• Complete accurate incident reports and shift handoff communications as required.

As a Security Officer Office Building Weekend Patrolin San Diego, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $22.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of shelter common areas, entry points, exterior grounds, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity, maintenance concerns, and policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, respectful, trauma‑informed, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols and contacting appropriate personnel when needed.
• Monitor access to the location, verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and maintain awareness of visitor and resident activity.
• Complete accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and shift handoff communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site‑specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A state, county, or city‑issued security‑related license is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
