Job summary

StoneRidge in Mystic, CT is seeking a Part-time Security Officer (16 hours/week) to help maintain a safe living environment for residents, staff and visitors. Shifts run on weekends with hours between 12pm-8pm or 4pm-12am; additional shifts may occur as needed, including nights and holidays.

The starting pay is $17.75/hour with night and weekend differentials. Responsibilities include regular rounds, responding to alarms, keeping walkways clear, and light maintenance duties as time permits.

Qualifications

• One-year security experience preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Makes scheduled rounds inside and outside buildings to secure residents and property.
• Responds to fire alarms and apartment emergency calls.
• Shovels and clears exit door walkways during/after snowstorms.
• Attends to priorities as directed by supervisor.
• Performs light maintenance tasks when time allows.

The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all residents, visitors, staff and protecting community property. The Security Officer is responsibility for verifying the scheduled presence of employees and third-party contractors on the grounds.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Makes scheduled rounds both inside and outside the buildings to maintain a secure environment for residents and their property as well as company property.
• Responds to all fire alarms and apartment emergency calls.
• Shovels and keeps clear exit door walkways during and after snowstorms.
• Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.

Other Duties:

• Performs light maintenance as time allows such as changing light bulbs, touch up painting and similar assignments.
• Maintains all tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition.
• Attends in-service training and education session, as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
• One-year experience in security preferred.
