Job summary

StoneRidge is seeking a part-time Security Officer for weekend coverage in Mystic, CT. Shifts run 12pm-8pm or 4pm-12am with potential additional nights/holidays. Starting pay is $17.75 per hour plus night and weekend differentials.

The role involves rounds, monitoring access, and ensuring resident and property safety. Qualifications include one year of security experience (preferred) and the ability to follow instructions in English, plus basic arithmetic.

Qualifications

• One year of security experience preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment screening including background check and drug test.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English and perform basic arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Makes scheduled rounds both inside and outside the buildings to maintain a secure environment for residents and property.
• Responds to all fire alarms and apartment emergency calls.
• Shovels and keeps clear exit door walkways during and after snowstorms.
• Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.
• Performs light maintenance such as changing light bulbs, touch up painting and similar tasks.
• Maintains all tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition.
• Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.

Position: Security Officer: Part-time, 16hours/week

Schedule:Shifts are every weekend, with hours varying between 12pm-8pm and 4pm-12am; additional shifts may arise as-needed (including nights and occasionally holidays)

Pay: Starts at $17.75 per hour, plus night and weekend shift differential

The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all residents, visitors, staff and protecting community property. The Security Officer is responsibility for verifying the scheduled presence of employees and third-party contractors on the grounds.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Makes scheduled rounds both inside and outside the buildings to maintain a secure environment for residents and their property as well as company property.
• Responds to all fire alarms and apartment emergency calls.
• Shovels and keeps clear exit door walkways during and after snowstorms.
• Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor.

Other Duties:

• Performs light maintenance as time allows such as changing light bulbs, touch up painting and similar assignments.
• Maintains all tools, equipment and supplies in proper condition.
• Attends in-service training and education session, as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
• One-year experience in security preferred.
