Job summary

Allied Universal®, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer at a Washington, DC education location. You will greet students, staff, and visitors, support access control and badge procedures, and provide professional customer service while maintaining security.

Qualifications

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or vendors while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related protocols at an educational location.
• Staff the front desk, greet and direct visitors, verify access credentials, issue visitor passes, and maintain accurate visitor and access records.
• Monitor access points, surveillance systems, alarms, and/or communications equipment, reporting unusual activity or security-related concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, requests for assistance, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; coordinate with appropriate campus personnel and emergency responders as needed.
• Maintain a professional presence at the assigned post to help deter unauthorized access and support a welcoming educational environment.

Pay Rate: $21.15 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Thur: 10:30 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sat: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

What You'll Do:
