Job summary

FuelCell Energy is seeking a Security Officer to protect employees, visitors, contractors, and assets at our Torrington site. You will patrol, monitor access control, CCTV, and alarms, and respond to incidents under supervision.

The role requires an on-call schedule and strong attention to detail. Ideal candidates have an Associate’s degree in criminal justice or related field (or 5 years in security) and at least 3 years of security experience, plus proficiency with MS Office and a

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, or related field (or substitution of 5 years in security).
• 3 years’ experience in law enforcement, military security, or corporate security management.
• Law enforcement experience required.
• Experience with MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work with customers, suppliers, and contractors and to lead or work independently.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access through badge systems and visitor management.
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols of buildings and grounds.
• Monitor CCTV, alarms, and security equipment.
• Respond to alarms and incidents and notify the Shift Supervisor.
• Document incidents in accurate reports.
• Assist with emergency responses, including evacuations and medical incidents.
• Enforce policies and post orders; maintain visible security presence.
• Provide customer service to employees and visitors.
• Report hazards, risks, and vulnerabilities.
