Job summary

FuelCell Energy is seeking a Security Officer to monitor access, perform patrols, manage CCTV and alarms, and respond to incidents. The role requires an Associate’s degree in criminal justice or related field, plus 3 years in security or law enforcement.

On-call, travel between Torrington and Danbury, and strong discretion are expected. Ideal candidates will have HR-218/LEOSA qualification, proficiency with MS Office, and a proven ability to work independently while delivering excellent customer

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, or related field (or 5 years security-related experience)
• 3 years’ experience in law enforcement, military security, or corporate security management
• Law enforcement experience required
• Experience using PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook
• HR‑218/LEOSA with current annual firearm qualification required
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access through badge systems and visitor management processes
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols of buildings and grounds
• Monitor CCTV, alarm systems, and security equipment
• Respond to alarms and incidents and notify the Shift Supervisor
• Document incidents and activities in reports
• Assist with emergency response, evacuations, and medical incidents
• Maintain a visible security presence to deter unauthorized activity
• Provide customer service to employees and visitors
• Report hazards, risks, and vulnerabilities
