Job summary

Allied Universal is currently hiring a Part Time Security Officer for a Pharma Company in Cambridge, MA. The role runs Monday to Friday from 3 PM to 7 PM with a pay rate of $25.00 per hour. You will work in healthcare/pharma locations, providing security, customer service, and access control.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors per security procedures.
• Respond to incidents and alarms with calm, procedural reporting.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols across the facility and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity per site procedures.
• Complete activity logs and shift documentation accurately and timely.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare and pharmaceutical location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the facility, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site-specific procedures, documenting observations and communicating concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Complete required activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Comfortably using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
