Job summary

Harvard Protection Services in New York is seeking professional security officers to maintain a professional demeanor, assist customers and employees, and provide a visible presence in the assigned facilities. You will monitor activity, greet visitors, manage access, answer phones, and follow emergency procedures to protect people and property.

A license and HS diploma are required; prior security experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have or be able to obtain a security officer license.
• Reliable communication and transportation are required.
• Prior contract security or guard experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor while assisting customers and staff.
• Maintain visible security presence in assigned area.
• Monitor environment and detect suspicious activity.
• Familiarize with access control for customers and guests.
• Greet visitors professionally.
• Answer phones promptly and professionally.
• Manage entrances and monitor exits.
• Enforce facility policies within scope of position.
• Conduct required patrols on foot or in vehicle.
• Observe for theft and ensure proper removal of property.
• Follow emergency procedures and action plans.
• Monitor alarms and security systems.
• Prepare incident reports as directed.
