Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time) in Pawtucket, RI. You will patrol shelter areas, maintain a visible presence, and provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by following security procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally, contacting site personnel or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of shelter areas, entrances, exterior grounds, and perimeter to identify hazards and report concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity; report concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate patrol and incident reports and complete required documentation.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, staff, and service providers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, respectful, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate site personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of shelter common areas, entrances, exterior grounds, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, maintain awareness of individuals entering and leaving the location, and report concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and complete required documentation related to patrols, incidents, and security-related observations.
