Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a full-time security officer to support transit environments. You will provide customer service to riders and staff, enforce site procedures, and participate in patrols of facilities and perimeters.

You will monitor access points, respond calmly to incidents, and prepare incident reports, contributing to a safe, reliable transportation setting. A valid driver's license and 1+ year security experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of security-related experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Handcuffing certification is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• A state/county/city security license is preferred.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to transit riders, visitors, and personnel by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of transit facilities, platforms, parking areas, buildings, and surrounding perimeters to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Monitor access points, pedestrian traffic, and restricted areas; report suspicious activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, service disruptions, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with transit personnel and emergency responders as needed.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and maintain required activity logs in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific procedures.

Minimum Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Handcuffing certification is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
