Job summary

Allied Universal in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a Security Officer Patrol - Access Control to protect clients in healthcare and research environments. You will monitor access points, conduct patrols, verify credentials, respond to alarms, and document activities with clear reports.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of security-related experience.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/local laws.
• A valid driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, patients, and contractors while carrying out site-specific security procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of facilities, laboratories, parking areas, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, manage visitor entry procedures, and report access concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations with calm problem-solving and notify site personnel or responders.
• Document patrol activities, incidents, and observations in reports and share information with leadership and site contacts.

Pay Rate: $21.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Thur: 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Fri: 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sat: 07:00 PM - 07:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, patients, and contractors while carrying out site-specific, security-related procedures and emergency response activities in a healthcare and research environment.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of facilities, laboratories, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual conditions and support site policies.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, manage visitor entry procedures, and report access concerns according to site-specific requirements.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate site personnel and/or emergency responders when needed.
• Document patrol activities, incidents, and observations in clear, accurate reports and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
