Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Patrol in Norfolk, VA to provide professional security services at an aerospace/defense site. You will monitor, patrol, verify access, and respond to incidents, maintaining a visible presence to deter security risks and protect people and property.

This full-time role offers daytime shifts, a pay rate of $19.95 per hour, and opportunities for CPR/First Aid certification, career growth, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• CPR certification is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors at an aerospace and defense location by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access requirements, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of buildings, parking areas, perimeter locations, and other assigned areas to help identify unusual conditions and support security-related operations.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials in accordance with site policies, directing visitors and contractors to appropriate check-in procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and notification protocols.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of observations, incidents, patrol activities, and policy violations, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
