Job summary

Allied Universal in Latham, NY is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Monitor to provide dependable hours at an assigned site and support patient, staff, and visitor safety. The role features a fixed anchor shift with potential to pick up additional shifts via our scheduling platform.

Pay is $16.50 per hour with opportunities for growth through paid training and a path to full-time roles within the industry leader.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation required by federal, state and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law; licensing may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff and vendors while following site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout facilities and parking areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms and emergencies calmly and effectively.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity per facility protocols.
• Document observations and communicate information to leadership and site contacts.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Monitor in Latham, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Mon 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout healthcare facilities, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity and help to deter unauthorized access.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with facility protocols, reporting concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activity accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
