Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer at Windfern Rd in Houston, TX. This role offers flexible hours with fixed shifts and optional additional shifts through our scheduling platform, designed to complement your income and help you build experience.

The position requires a Texas Level III Armed Certification, a valid driver's license, and being 21 or older. The pay rate is $17.25 per hour, with opportunities to earn more while maintaining a reliable schedule.

Qualifications

• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and store team members while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales areas, receiving areas, parking lots, and the surrounding perimeter.
• Monitor access points, observe activity for unusual or suspicious behavior, and help to deter theft, trespassing, and other unauthorized activity.
• Complete required reports and maintain accurate documentation of incidents, patrols, observations, and security-related activities.

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
