Job summary

Allied Universal in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Security Officer for part-time visitor screening. You will manage access points, verify credentials, issue badges, and monitor activity to support a secure workplace.

Deliver excellent customer service to employees, visitors, drivers, and vendors, and document security information using our technology. The role requires at least 1 year of security experience, computer familiarity, badge experience, and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Possess access control and badge experience, preferred.
• Possess customer service experience, preferred.
• Possess a Guard Card or license, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, drivers, and vendors by carrying out access-control procedures and site-specific policies.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue visitor badges, and maintain logs.
• Screen and direct delivery drivers and vendors according to procedures, coordinating with site personnel on arrivals and restricted-area access.
• Respond to incidents calmly and report security-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, the business, and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, drivers, and vendors by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue visitor badges, and maintain accurate access and visitor logs.
• Screen and direct delivery drivers and vendors according to established procedures, coordinating with site personnel regarding arrivals, departures, and restricted-area access.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and promptly reporting security-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, the business, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Possess access control and badge experience, preferred.
• Possess customer service experience, preferred.
• Possess a Guard Card or license, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
